Chatha Pacha review

Chatha Pacha: The Ring of Rowdies is a 2026 Malayalam action-comedy that taps into the deep-seated nostalgia of the 90s WWE generation. It follows three brothers in Fort Kochi who try to escape poverty by starting an underground wrestling franchise that is like an entertainment business. The movie is directed by Adhvaith Nayar, who is making his first feature film. It stars Arjun Ashokan and Roshan Mathew as brothers Savio and Vetri. Their complicated sibling rivalry, which is similar to the famous Undertaker and Kane relationship, is the emotional heart of the story. Many critics have praised the film's high-octane technical execution, especially the carefully planned wrestling scenes by Kalai Kingson and the lively music by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, which do a great job of recreating the feel of a real wrestling ring. But the story has been criticized for being "all style and little substance." Many reviews say that while the in-ring action is exciting, the secondary drama with local goons and underdeveloped backstories often feels weak and doesn't have a strong emotional hook. Mammootty's cameo as a polarizing superstar split audiences, but the movie is still a good choice for people who want to see a stylish, nostalgic tribute to the "don't try this at home" era of childhood.
