Ice Shooting

Ice shooting, also known as Ice Stock Sport, is a traditional European winter sport that combines the accuracy of lawn bowls with the sliding mechanics of curling. In this sport, players stand at one end of an ice track and swing a heavy, round "stock" by its vertical handle. They let it go with an underhand motion so that it glides across the ice toward a target called the Daube. Ice shooting is different from curling because it doesn't use brooms and instead uses modular stocks with interchangeable gliding plates to adapt to different ice conditions. Players can compete in team games to see who can get closest to the target, distance shooting to see who can shoot the farthest, or target shooting to see who can get the most points. It is still a popular game at winter festivals and on frozen lakes in the Alps because it is very social and easy to learn.
