Tatiana Schlossberg

Tatiana Schlossberg (1990–2025) was a well-known American environmental journalist and author known for her ability to turn complicated ecological problems into interesting stories that anyone could understand. She is the daughter of Caroline Kennedy and Edwin Schlossberg and the granddaughter of President John F. Kennedy. For most of her career, she worked hard to build a respected professional identity that was separate from her family's political legacy. She went to Yale and Oxford and then became a well-known climate reporter, especially for The New York Times. She also wrote the award-winning book "Inconspicuous Consumption: The Environmental Impact You Don't Know You Have." She wrote about the hidden environmental costs of modern life, from the internet to the fashion industry, and pushed for systemic change instead of just individual action. She died in late 2025 after a private battle with acute myeloid leukemia. Her last essay in The New Yorker was a moving reflection on her illness, her children, and the future of the planet.
